mill update << dark woods coffee >>

Remember back in January I posted about a restoration project that I’m kind of involved in? Well I thought I’d give you guys a wee update and a bit more info. The mill restoration has been a fairly slow process and is no way near complete…but progress has been made and things are starting to take shape. Holes have been bashed into the walls to make way for a new front door and to provide access between the two rooms. I popped down last week to talk paint colours and brick sealant. The electrical layout and floorplan have been created. And it is almost water tight – certainly will be once the new glazing has been completed. But it still looks quite a lot like an abandoned building at the moment. I have a feeling the next couple of weeks we will see some big changes though. And after that…the building will become home to an exciting new business. I mentioned last week that Damian is no longer employed as master roaster at the company who own Grumpy Mule. That’s because he will soon be the caffeine fueled face of his very own artisan coffee roastery. Dark Woods Coffee is still a couple of months away from production, but the vintage roaster is ready to go and the branding is coming along nicely. I can’t wait to share all of that. But for now, you’ll have to use your imagination looking at these “progress” photies. Tee hee.
