Humanist Scottish Barge Wedding << r + d >>
I decided it was time to catch up with my backlog and blog some of the lovely weddings I second shot for other photographers last year. Back in May (MAY!) I spent some time up in Scotland with my dear friend Kristin of Struve Photography. In addition to collaborating on a fab shoot (more on that in the not too distant future), I assisted her at an absolutely gorgeous wedding – seen here on the fab Under The Vintage Veil blog. R and D were just brilliant to spend the day with. It was, without a doubt, the most emotional ceremony I’ve witnessed. R’s bespoke lace frock was made by her good friend (and a lovely lady that I am lucky to have met and worked with on several occasions now) Wendy of Flossy and Dossy. Their friends and family partied hard (was it eight downed shots before the speeches at the naughty table?) and heckled like no wedding guests I’ve seen before or since. The setting – Cafe Barge at Tarbert on Loch Fyne (who do amazing tapas and provided wonderful canapes on the day) plus the Anchor Hotel opposite for the evening do, was incredible. And, in spite of the days either side being something of a washout…they had glorious weather to bless their marriage. R and D – I love you guys. Kristin – you too, lady and thanks SO MUCH for having me along for the ride. It was an honour to shoot for you!
This is Kristin by the way. She’s ACE!!!
This post was brought to you by Frightened Rabbit : Pedestrian Verse (saw them live last night – AMAZING)
Cute pics and totally fab venue/ location xx
Wow, missus. Every time I look at this wedding, I still get that little tingle of excitement. I love these photos – although what was I doing in that picture? Mouth open, eyes closed… hmm. Looks about right. 😉 What’s funny though, is that lone champagne glass photo… I saw the same thing, and took a similar photo with slightly different composition!
Naughty table ruled 🙂 great photos from a great wedding.
Beautiful images of a beautiful couple! These photos have captured what a fantasic day it was!
(Late to the party)
How fab is this wedding! Joy and such smiles! Yay for all the love.
