Haad Salad Beach Wedding << adventure >>

As I lazed on the beach taking in the usual incredible view of crystal clear turquoise waters, colourful longtail boats bobbing along the shoreline, golden sands stretching into the distance and swaying palms laden with coconuts, I noticed that there was something special in the scene today. At the far end of the beach, a wedding was taking place. I didn’t want to intrude, and at the time didn’t have my camera anyway, but I took a stroll along the beach just before sunset and snapped some of the detritus of the day once the quite sizeable Australian wedding party had moved to the pool area, where they seemed to be having a fabulous time celebrating the nuptials.

I actually really like beach weddings. There’s something about mixing fancy frocks, flowers and sand that really appeals to me. Even more so a fearless bride who is prepared to wade into the shallows or sprawl out in the surf. I somehow don’t think that’s what this couple had in mind, but I bet they got some wonderful photographs of their day none the less. A wedding in paradise is always going to look glorious…in real life and in print. Congratulations to the happy couple (and their adorable little daughter too).
