Off to shoot a lovely wedding at Quarry Bank Mill tomorrow but before I hit the sack I wanted to share some pics I shot on Tuesday whilst trying out my new lens. Turns out Martha puppy is always happy to model for me, and here you can see her demonstrating her three key “ear” looks.

As midnight approached I had another opportunity to play with this new bit of kit too thanks to a pretty big geomagnetic storm meaning that the aurora borealis might be visible through much of northern England. Although I live on the edge of remote moorland, looking north there’s still a fair bit of light pollution so I don’t have an ideal view of the Northern Lights even when they’re super active. But this time thankfully I was rewarded for my time out in the cold with my very first sighting of the hazy green stuff. Squeee. I really want to see the aurora borealis properly before too long – a trip to Iceland or Norway is long overdue. So magical!
