alternative wedding cake ideas << chit chat >>

Short but sweet (well, more savoury actually)  post this week.  Something I’ve seen a few times at weddings now and am a big fan of is having a cheese or pie tower in place of the traditional sweet cake.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a good cake. I am even partial to mediocre cake. It’s cake. I like cake. But I also love a good chunk of cheese. Mmmm cheese. Lovely smelly cheese. I adore the stuff. And can honestly say that some of the best cheese I’ve ever eaten has been at weddings too. Huzzah! More of that please. And then there’s pie. Pork Pie. Delicious meaty goodness in a pastry case. What’s not to love, right? So if any of you are unsure about having cake… don’t worry. These savoury alternatives are always well received and look blummin’ brilliant too. Win win!

Your photographs of alternative wedding cakes is interesting and well presented. The one aspect that stands out to my ‘different’ sense of humour is the ‘Bride and Groom’ peg effigies on top of the cheese stacks.
Could you please advise where such items can be purchased or if they are special to you. My intention would be to purchase two or three as minor items to include with wedding presents. Therefore your answer would be most welcome.
