tartan retro gaming day at manchester town hall << helen + caie >>
So…last year I had the honour of shooting the Manchester Town Hall wedding of Helen (The Norfolk Broad) and Caie (Caie Borg). Caie is a gaming geek and Helen is a crafty little minx. Add to that, Caie is Scottish and has had his clan’s tartan woven especially for the occasion. They decided that their day should be about all of the things they love. They asked guests to wear some form of tartan and happily most of them did. Helen custom made mini favour bags bearing either the Saltaire or St George’s Cross in beads. She also hand beaded all of the table numbers – a host of well known Nintendo characters – and the incredible wishing well gift box and Zelda characters. The cake comprised three of Caie’s favourite consoles. The Caie family (it’s his surname but everyone calls hi it too) colours were incorporated throughout the day – the ribbon in Helen’s hair and around her bouquet for example. And to represent the home they have together in Manchester – in addition to celebrating their day at Manchester Town Hall – Caie gave Helen a beautiful silver bee brooch which she pinned to her bouquet. From start to finish this was a day of personal touches and the celebration of all things good. What’s not to love – kilts, jugs of irn bru, hand made tartan confetti, curry, laughter and dancing. And a blummin’ campervan. Yes. This wedding had them all. Check it out.
