mad about the boys << chit chat >>

I had lunch with a friend yesterday and we were looking through the last wedding gallery I sent off and she was in fits of giggles over the groomsmen. They were a particularly rambunctious bunch and I have to say, they rather made my day. And it got me thinking – I do love having a giggle with the boys. I’ve taken on a few second shooting jobs lately and I am genuinely excited to get to spend some mornings covering groom prep with the fellas. The atmosphere is completely different from bridal prep. Usually, there’s less going on (no hair and make-up to be done, for example), nerves are apparent and a cheeky drink is often required en route… More often than not, at one of my weddings, my assistant spends more time with the boys than I do. But I still try to get to know them and usually find that, by the time I try to take their photo, they’re arsing about and being daft and, well, making my job easier in many ways. It’s always a joy to photograph people who are clearly having fun. So I encourage it. I’m all for ridiculous photos and bizarre goings on, much rather that than a bunch of lads stood in a line looking like they can’t wait to bugger off to the bar. Hehe. Here’s an idea of what I’m talking about…

I do love it when a chap picks his favourite ladies to be by his side on his wedding day. More of that sort of thing, I say!grooms women
