Yorkshire Sculpture Park Wedding < < anna + richard > >
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of second shooting for Adele Haywood of Blue Lights Photography – the lady who organised the fab bridal shoot at Bawtry Hall back in early June. The adorable couple, Anna and Richard, are due back off their honeymoon this week so I thought I would post a few of the images from their big day. Lucky for me, I got to spend lots of time with their nieces, Eva and Molly, who at 4 and 5 were รผber cute and not at all camera shy.
Anna got ready with the help of her sister Emily and sister-in-law-to-be (too much of a mouthful?) Katie at her parents’ house immediately opposite the venue for their ceremony, St Edward’s Church in Barnsley. Mum and dad were there too, of course, along with their incredibly patient doggie who stole my heart the moment I walked through the door.
The ceremony was beautiful, although the younger members of the congregation seemed slightly disinterested at times as is often the case.
Afterwards, the sun shone down on the happy couple as guests chattered and the kiddies chased about in the confetti. Before long people started heading to the reception venue and after taking a few minutes to catch their breath while Adele took some quick portraits, the bride and groom strolled across to their car and drove themselves to Yorkshire Sculpture Park to meet up with everybody else again.
Yorkshire Sculpture Park made for a fantastic wedding venue, there’s no doubt about that. We arrived just as the park closed to the public and before long had the place to ourselves. A drinks reception on the terrace afforded time for Adele to get some more stunning portraits of Anna and Richard, plus the group shots, while I mingled and captured some reportage shots.
The reception itself was no disappointment, either. From the jelly baby favour jars and fingerprint tree guest book to the fabulous view across the Sculpture Park and beyond. I left that evening with a happy heart and I just know that Anna and Richard did too. I also know what underwear best man Robert was wearing…but that’s another story altogether. Instead, I’ll leave you with the knowledge that the speeches genuinely brought a tear to my eye and a chuckle to my lips. I love it when that happens.
Anna and Richard’s friends and family were so incredibly welcoming. It really was a treat to spend the day with them. And Adele of course. I can’t wait to see the final images from the day when she blogs them next week. ๐
Thanks for Blogging your shots Hannah, and I look forward to working with you again too! What a lovely write up ๐ xx

Oh Hannah, I’ve been looking forward to this wedding report for ages because I was so curious about what your photos would be like, and they’re fantastic! You have such a way with people and engaging them. Aww, exciting! Many congratulations to the couple.
