wedding favours << chit chat >>
The fab wedfest that I posted yesterday got me thinking about some of my favourite wedding favours. Liz & Jamie gave their guests yummie booze in the form of craft beer and homemade blackberry vodka.
I’ve seen a few other boozey favours and I approve whole heartedly. A dram of whisky, a shot of the couples’ favourite lethal cocktail…I’m all for it. Hee!
Hayley & Nick even had a selection of 5 different tipples (plus a little non-alcoholic treat for the two pregnant guests). Very impressive!
Another drink based favour that I LOVED was this awesome jar of hot chocolate that Gem & Dey put together for their autumnal wedding feast. A hint of cinnamon, white chocolate chips and a sprinkling of mini marshmallows – it was delicious and looked super cute.
There have been some scrummy edible favours too – like Sarah & Simon’s homemade chutney.
And you can’t beat Beth & Ryan’s bride and groom cookies!
Chris & Gem actually made charitable donations on behalf of their guests instead of giving favours, but their little VIP (aka son) Henry received a bespoke mini cupcake that I was drooling over. Squee! Big fan of the charitable donation though. Such a great idea!
And sweeties, of course. I’m a BIG fan of all things confectionery including Jo & Darron’s rock candy and Nikki & Matt’s cute jars of jellies. Yum!
Oh and Sam & Andy’s amazing bride & groom M&Ms – how cool are they?
Not forgetting these amazing mini goodie bags that Helen & Caie made for their guests at their fun Nintendo inspired wedding. There were Scottish (blue) and English (red) versions of the edible marzipan ‘shrooms, and Helen made the wee bags herself. Super cute.
Goodie bags in general tend to make me smile – Becky & Ross opted for minimalist craft bags with paper cord handles and name pegs while Clare & Alex chose good od fashioned candy stripes tied with ribbon.
It’s not all about yummies though. I just loved these mix CDs that Dale (a self professed geek) made to give to guests when he married Gemma (a photographer).
Some of the other cutest favours I’ve seen were Hazel & Phil’s home grown wildflower seeds and Sue-Kim and Scott’s adorable lavender heart pillows. Lovely little gifts that just keep giving.
And Lucy & Simon’s tea towels!
Oh and these Christmas themed lovelies – baubles and crackers for the win!
Oh and one final thing….you can’t forget the little ones. I absolutely love it when they get something to keep them entertained while the grown ups do their thing. How adorable are these twiggy colouring pencils that Kate & Lloyd found for their rustic tipi woodland wedding?
I can’t wait to see what people come up with next year. It’s always so exciting seeing the creative ideas people come up with…and the looks on guest’s faces when they see them!
