crafty knipe hall wedding << ruth + neil >>
You’ve seen their e-shoot, you’ve oggled Ruth’s incredible handiwork (and hopefully invested in some from her Blue Eggs & Tea Etsy store) so now it’s time to feast your eyes on this fabulous, unconventional Lake District wedding. Ruth and Neil tied the knot at the lovely Knipe Hall near Penrith in the Lake District. An intimate ceremony in the dairy, a jaw dropping backdrop, a fabulous meal upstairs in a room bursting with hand crafted delights and then an evening of fun and games – this was one unconventional and utterly lovely wedding. Ruth had no bridesmaids and Neil no groomsmen. Speeches were minimal (but hilarious I must say – Ruth’s mum telling everyone some embarrassing stories from her youth like the “save the gingers” campaign and her penchant for scampi) and the traditional first dance was replaced with a first game (reel in the bride and groom) to kick start the evening, which also featured an hilarious Mr & Mrs session, a trivia quiz (which was highly competitive) and a good old fashioned beetle drive. The atmosphere was fantastic, the barn filled with laughter and joy from start to finish. I loved every minute and am honoured to have been able to play a part in such a very special day. Big hugs to the lovely Ruth and Neil (my kind of people) and to their awesome family and friends, especially the inimitable Grandma Masie and Grandpa Victor. You made a beautiful wintery day feel epic with the warmth that shines out of you all! Just look at all of this pretty! Special mentions for the cake toppers (this wedding took place in November just after the John Lewis Christmas advert launched so I nearly squealed when I saw the theme), the meter upon meter of autumnal bunting made my Neil’s mum and the beautiful hand crafted table decorations and table plan etc all imagined and realised by Ruth herself. My crafting heroine!
