juice novice << real life >>

Remember I mentioned juicing last week? Well…the good news is I really enjoyed my brief foray into it. The bad news is that smoke came out of my apparently faulty 4 day old juicer so it had to go back. Boo! But it’s ok. I now have another juicer. Hopefully a non-faulty one. And I am back on the juice. Yay! I’m not following the 5lbs in 5 days plan, though. I’ve decided to replace breakfast and lunch with a juice of my choice (because there’s no way I’m having the icky beetroot one that made me gag again) and then eat with my fella in the evening. I missed cooking and eating together more than I missed the food itself. So this seems like a good compromise. I get to dine with Damian, but I also get to enjoy yummie juice. Hurrah! I’ve barely scratched the surface of the recipe book, but so far my favourite concoctions have been pear and parsnip with a sliver of ginger; banana, berries & mixed seed crunch; and carrot, orange, pineapple and mint. LUSH! I’m not at all averse to green juice either – there’s nowt wrong with popping spinach, celery, kale, cucumber, broccoli and courgette in there. But I’m wary of the beetroot. Very wary indeed.
