feeling sorry for myself << real life >>
The observant amongst you may have spotted that I failed to blog on Friday. And I’ll tell you now, I wont be blogging tomorrow either. I’m poorly sick. Bed rest, penicillin & paracetamol are my friends, right now. I have a nasty dose of tonsillitis and I am not a happy bunny. But since I’ve dragged myself up to go see the doctor, I figured I’d take the time to explain my temporary quietness and fill you in on last week. I headed down to that there London to stay with my good friend Sarah for her birthday. Had an awesome few days including a brief trip to the Horniman Museum to see the overstuffed walrus and lots of other rather lovely taxidermy, a wander through Stardust – the National Portrait Gallery’s current David Bailey exhibition, and a lovely evening at the Ravensbourne Arms including several top notch beers (Thornbridge Wild Raven was my fave – I do love a good black IPA) – plus I finally got to meet Justin from Bish Training seen below wearing my ill fitting hat. I filled my face at the rather fabulous Spuntino in Soho (gotta love a NYC style dive bar – speaking of which Sarah has provided me with all manner of research materials ahead of my big trip next month) and also managed to pick up the most awesome shoes I think I have ever owned whilst passing time before my train back oop north on Thursday morning. Yay!
By the time I got back to Yorkshire I was feeling pretty under the weather, though. Even the arrival of a dozen roses and the offer of a home cooked romantic meal on Valentines Day couldn’t perk me up. I was suffering from the dreaded lurgy – and I am rubbish when I’m ill. So I climbed into bed and remained there for much of the weekend. Boo! Now that I have the appropriate pharmaceuticals though, I’m sure I’ll be right as ninepence in no time at all. Plus, I can’t be too grouchy when good things keep happening to cheer me up. For example, I may well start referring to myself as a destination wedding photographer now having secured bookings in both Germany and Italy for the year ahead. Exciting times! Oh and…did I mention that I’m booked in for another tattoo? Eeek. My sister and I are heading down to London next weekend for same day sessions with the incredible Rebecca Vincent at The Circle in Soho. Must get better by the weekend. Argh!!!
So I’m back off to bed. Normal blogging should resume mid week. x
