Day Of The Dead Coombe Abbey Wedding << michelle + rich >>
Last year I popped along to a wee summer’s afternoon event organised by my album supplier, Folio, for a nosy at some of their new products and to have a natter with owner Stewart and some of the other fab wedding togs he supplies. It turned out to be a fab afternoon and whilst there I met a lovely couple from Birmingham called Michelle and Rich, who are also known as SilverStar Photographic. We chatted about their upcoming wedding, to be shot by Steve Gerrard, their awesome e-shoot and our collection of tattoos. And that was that. Or so I thought. Until I got a call from Steve asking me to second shoot at a wedding he thought would be right up my street. Low and behold, it was Michelle & Rich who were tying the knot the following weekend. Naturally…I jumped at the chance! With a gorgeous ceremony at St Patrick’s Church in Earlswood (complete with electric guitars playing the bridal march – I kid you not) and an immensely fun reception in Coombe Abbey’s baronial hall, Abbeygate, it was a day not to be forgotten. JD bottles plugged with black candles, awesome alternative pop culture references throughout, gig tickets as table markers, an awesome Ian Stewart frock and a pair of hand painted sugar skulls…plus ice cream stall, amazing cars and more ink than I could shake a stick at. Amazing! Huge thanks to Steve for having me along, to Michelle and Rich for being utterly awesome, and to all of their family and friends for making it such a great day (and indeed night – I even hit the dance floor before leaving in the early hours)! You can see Steve’s full account of the day here…and this is how I remember it.

what a cool cool wedding! I love all the little details as well that you’ve picked up on, right down to the die on the tyre cap. Also, that bride has gorgeous hair! A really awesome wedding, totally you, and how cool that you met them then ended up being the second photographer at their wedding. Lovely photos, madam! xx
