Culcreuch Castle Wedding << Kat + Alfie >>
Kat and Alfie are essentially Londoners now, they’ve lived there so long. But there was no doubt in anybody’s mind that this pair would tie the knot back home, in Scotland. They picked Culcreuch Castle for their nuptials, with an intimate humanist ceremony complete with hand fasting and quaich. Kat looked adorable in her David’s Bridal gown with make-up by Jo at Eyecandy Scotland and hair by Carolyn at Westend Hair, Glasgow. The incredible blooms were supplied by Nicola at The Secret Garden in Dunblane, and both the veil and tartan garter were made by Kat’s talented mum, Sandra (who also helped with lots of the other pretty elements of the day including the hand crafted candle and flower holders for the tables and the tartan hand fasting that matches Alfie’s kilt). Kat & Alfie went all out on the personalised decoration front, making comic strip bunting, cute pompoms and heart decorations made form old books, book mark favours (the caligraphy penned by Kat herself) and a super cute DIY photobooth. The day was busting with colour and full of joy, in spite of the rain. With a piper playing the happy couple into their married life and the Gary Sutherland Ceilidh Band seeing the night out, it was one heck of a party. Highlights for me included Kat’s giggles when the celebrant listed “he’s very tall, which is helpful when things are on high shelves” as one of the things she loves about Alfie… and meeting Kat’s two gorgeous grans (one giggly and one very glam – Kat clearly takes after them both). So take a look at this cute Culcreuch Castle wedding and tell me what you think…
