craft beer take away << real life >>

How quickly this last Tuesday of the month seems to have come round! In all honesty, it’s been a bit of a disappointing month on the craft beer front, largely on account of me having been ill for a good portion of it. Boo. But what it lacked in quantity it rather made up for in quality. And even though I was on antibiotics and therefore off booze for one of the sessions, I still enjoyed a couple of Thursday folk nights down at The Grove. Oh yeah! Untappd top marks of the month go to Thornbridge Brewery‘s wonderful Wild Raven with a host of fine ales fighting for second place – Hop Ranch from Victory Brewing Co, Brooklyn‘s Black Chocolate Stout, P.IPA from Late Knights Brewery and the lovely Rainbow Red IPA from Siren Craft Brew. Special mention also to a very special drink that missed out on being mentioned last month on account of my trying it just before midnight on the last day of the month. Mikkeller Black is without doubt the strongest most unusual brew I have tasted – like the beery equivalent of port (and I mean that in a good way). I wouldn’t want to drink much of it – but my word it is tasty stuff. Nom! Oh and if you were wondering – I totally booked us tickets for the Spring Craft Beer Festival in New York while we’re there. Would be rude not to, right?
