Colourful Asylum & The Peasant Wedding << Abi + Will >>
I was so excited about this wedding from the minute Abi and Will got in touch with me. Not least because they picked my favourite London wedding venue – the glorious Asylum (Caroline Gardens Chapel in Peckham) for their ceremony – I absolutely LOVE an Asylum wedding. Abi showed me her stunning Kobus Dippenaar dress pretty much as soon as she tried it on and I knew she was planning to go super colourful with a flower crown made using the base her mother wore to get married to her father, complete with rainbow ribbons! I was a giddy kipper, eager to witness the fitness of the crazy bright giant bunting. Then when the day came, I was blown away by the entire celebration of all things Abi & Will. It was colourful, it was camp, there were all manner of Russian influences including Ukrainian vodka, cigarettes and korovai (wedding bread), and even their kitty (The Prof) made an appearance of sorts. Everyone had an amazing time. Everyone. We all laughed and cried and danced and sang… It was epic, full of love, laughter and a whole lot of alcohol. High fives to Lipstick & Curls for making the ladies look oh so glam, to Red Eden & Olive for the spectacular blooms and to The Peasant in Clerkenwell for hosting the ultimate wedding party. And a huge thank you to my friend Dana, one of Abi’s bridesmaids, for introducing me to this awesome pair of crazy humans. Mwah!
