Lisa Devlin Action < < my family & other animals > >
Hello. Bit of a random one this. I’ve been testing out some new processing styles in order to review them for a photography website. Specifically, Lisa Devlin’s fourth action set inspired by her recent trip to the States. I had a good old play and I compared the results with my usual style…my verdict is that I am gonna stick with my usual processing for all of my wedding work. Whilst some of Lisa’s actions do look rather pretty if used sparingly, I generally found that they don’t suit my style of shooting (when it comes to weddings). Even when the pics looked pretty, they just didn’t look like my work anymore. But…I tried them on some piccies of my nephew LJ (taken while my sister was having her latest tattoo done by Bez at Triple Six Studio) and I was pleasantly surprised. So I may well visit them again with upcoming e-shoots and see what happens. In the meantime, here are a couple of my fave shots of LJ looking utterly adorable (35mm, California & Fine Grain are from Lisa’s Action Set but the B&W is my own magic formula, I didn’t get on with the B&W conversions in Lisa’s set). As you can probably tell, I am one smitten auntie!
I love Lisa’s actions, but I think I’m a bit like you, I like my own methods on my pictures. I think its also about trying to develop my own style further. Even with downloaded actions, a lot of the time I try them then I adjust them to make them more “me”. Love the pics of the handsome chap though! x
