Hello! I’m having a bit of a mini break from work this week and it has been utterly lovely so far. I’m staying with my sister in Gateshead and getting to spend lots of time with my adorable nephew, LJ, who can now say my name. And does so regularly. Shouts it in fact. Repeatedly. Apparently he rather likes me. Which is nice. I rather like him too. He’s a little gem and it’s a real pleasure to wake up to his smiling, giggling little face each day. I shall miss him when I leave. But that I must, for I have a wedding fair in Nottingham this weekend and a shiny new camera waiting for me at home. Hee!

I’ll be back up here a couple of times next month though and am especially looking forward to his second birthday party. It’s gonna be amazing! The invite gives away the theme I think it’s safe to say…

Whilst here, in addition to playing with LJ and loving the sunshine (seriously – the weather has been fantastic) I’ve also been back for another full day tattoo session with the incredibly talented (and utterly bonkers) Bez at Triple Six Studios. I’m actually popping back tomorrow for a couple of hours to finish off the line work for this piece – an abstract peacock sleeve on my left arm. Love it already. I’m so lucky to have found an artist who understands what I like and I can trust to just come up with something amazing for me. Although I do have to keep my eye on him. During the initial design phase he cheekily added felt pen additions to my girls (the tattoo at the top of my upper left arm that he designed in the style of Audrey Kawasaki based on my sister and I as kids) – moustaches, a tie and even a swastika on my forehead. Tut tut tut.

Yay for ink. Anyways, next week I’ll be back to work and in fact I’m super excited to be shooting my first wedding of 2012 next weekend! Can’t wait…
