Alnwick Treehouse Wedding << Rachel + Andrew >>
I’m not gonna lie, shooting this wedding was hard. It was already completely dark outside when Rachel and Andrew first saw each other on their wedding day and both the ceremony and reception were lit by candles and fairly lights. But you know what? It was such good fun and I sort of loved being pushed to try new things to make interesting photos in the dark. The Treehouse is one heck of an awesome and totally unique wedding venue – a series of log cabins up in the canopy of the trees some thirty foot about the ground. It’s so warm and cosy inside with log fires and twinkly lights, and then outside it’s like one big adventure playground. Since they picked Halloween to celebrate their marriage, Rachel went all out making awesome DIY decorations including glittery pumpkin candle holders and a spook-tastic sweetie table. The treehouse was filled with gorgeous flowers in wooden vases and pumpkins, and guests were treated to personalised mini skateboards and gnomes (two of Andrew and Rachel’s favourite things). The cake carried on the woodland Halloween theme, with mini Rachel and Andrew gnomes on top (together with their fur babies). And the entire evening oozed personality and charm. Rachel and Andrew are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Seriously. It’s obvious that they love their family and friends to bits, but more than anything else they love each other. They really do go together like burger and fries (or should that be cheese sandwiches and tea?). I absolutely loved playing a part in their wedding, watching them beaming from ear to ear and glowing in the bliss of it all. From Rachel pulling her dad down the aisle at breakneck speed to the raucous sparkler exit – it was a rip roaring blast. And then Jen and I got to meet up with them again the next day for a quick couple shoot in the sunshine at their hotel, the wonderfully eclectic Alnwick Lodge. It was blummin’ brilliant. In fact – I want to do it all again!!! SO take a peek at this super cool Alnwick Treehouse wedding and tell me what you think…
