vintage norwood park wedding preview << anna + james >>
I’ll set the scene, shall I? A beautiful Georgian house in acres of parkland (including huge orchards) on the edge of Southwell in Nottinghamshire. It’s a crisp winter’s day. In a bedroom straight out of any Austen novel, I find the beautiful Anna surrounded by her 4 beautiful bridesmaids and 2 wonderful specialist vintage helpers – Ms Moo & Lucille. I spy her gorgeous Justin Alexander gown and Rachel Simpson shoes. I take in the incredible quilt that her sister Emma made for her to commemorate the day. I glimpse the incredible bouquet with it’s seasonal flowers and pheasant feathers. And I grin. I grin from ear to ear. Because it is clearly going to be one heck of a wonderful day. Add in the groom’s bespoke Barrington Ayre suit, his 6 dapper groomsmen, a string quartet, song lyrics read out during the ceremony, a hamper full of natural confetti, a few fur shrugs, some incredible hand finished decor (those deer – Anna totally glittered and decoupaged the heck out of them), some of the finest food I’ve ever tasted, a bucket of sparklers, a night sky full of twinkly stars and a whole lot of love, laughter and general merriment – yep. It was a corker. Anna made for the most perfect vintage inspired gown, all Hollywood glamour with her birdcage veil and vintage styling, and James came across as the perfect country gent (and he totally made us all cry with his heartfelt speech). Thank you SO much to everyone – but most of all Anna and James – for having me along to shoot such a magical day. You deserve a lifetime of absolute happiness. Mwah!
