wedfest 2013 at rutland water << jamie + liz >>
This wonderful wedfest was featured on the brilliant Boho weddings blog earlier in the week so I figured it was about time I shared it here too. I met up with Liz & Jamie for their e-shoot in Cambridge back in June and we got on like a house on fire. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much. It was an absolute hoot. So I knew I was going to have oodles of fun at their wedding. But it turned out to be utterly epic. An early start for bridal preps at Liz’s parents’ gorgeous cottage while my glamorous assistant Chris hung out with the boys at a nearby B&B. A surprise vintage car to take Liz and her pops to the beautiful Normanton Church on the edge of Rutland Water(like literally on the edge, skirted by water on 3 sides in fact). Once Liz was squirreled away in the special room at the back of the former church (it’s now a museum and hosts civil ceremonies), along came the guests and the groom with his Bristol boys. A lovely, relaxed ceremony, a bubble procession, and then onwards to WEDFEST 2013. There were wristbands. There was a double decker bus bar. There were cocktails. There were games and a bouncy castle. The food was amazing. Mini shepherds’ pie nibbles, people. Mini shepherds’ pies! And did I mention the tipis? I do love a tipi wedding. Plus, lots of the guests were staying on site, in a specially erected glamping village. It was so SO cute. A day filled with family and friends, love and laughter. And then there were the details…DIYed by Liz. So much pretty. I was particularly fond of the favours – a craft beer for the boys and homemade blackberry vodka for the girls. Nommers! And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better…along came a fab band and then a SILENT DISCO which sent everyone bonkers. It was immense! Feast your eyes on this lovely lot:

Hi, we’re just starting to plan our wedding and this is exactly how we envisage ours! Can I ask where the land is they used for their tipi?
Thanks in advance – love it!
Sorry if this is a bit late Emily!
It is the cricket field in Riddlington, a special favour to us as we use to play there when we wer kids.
