March? < < chit chat > >

You may recall that I said, in my last post, that I would soon be posting images of myself taken at a fab shoot that I took part in down in Brighton at the start of Feb? Well, somehow the weeks went by and I didn’t get around to doing anything about that. I have been a terrible, slack, lazy blogger and I feel awful about it. So I’ve decided to blog more often, about random things rather than just work. It may get a bit boring but before long wedding season will be in full swing and I’ll be filling the blogosphere with pretty pictures of loved up couples, gorgeous flowers, delicious cakes and I do not doubt some FABULOUS shoes. Ahem. But for now…you’ll have to make do with the day to day life of yours truly. Starting with something not at all day to day, really. For the shoot back in Feb was a Burlesque and Boudoir day and brought out my burly girl alter ego, Miss BonBon Voyage! Be warned – you’re going to see my pants. And a whole lot of bossom! Here are a couple of snaps courtesy of my favourite little app (instagram) to get you in the mood first though:

The Burlesque & Boudoir Shoot was organised by Melissa Love and Hannah Best of The Tea Set (the same lovely ladies who orchestrated the incredible Jane Austen inspired shoot last summer) at Brighton’s Proud Ballroom. The fabulous attire was supplied by She Said Boutique & Joanne Fleming Design. Velvet Lifestyle Store helped dress the set with various pretty bits and pieces whilst Tigz Rice (amazeballs burlesque photographer & performer who started the session off by doing a wonderful Burlesque photography posing workshop) & The Flash Centre provided the thirty plus photographers with guidance throughout the day. Finally I have to say a huge thank you to the incredibly lovely and obviously very skilled Hey Day Honey Vintage for working some undeniable hair and make-up magic. What a top lass! Ready for some saucy shots now? Ok then…I’ll start with some of my faves from the day by the lovely Laura of Cherry Red Photography in Worthing.

I also loved these moody (and very different from all the other work from the day I have to say) shots by Jo Thorne of Horseshoe Photography down in Brighton. I absolutely love her slightly voyeuristic take on the shoot and the softness of the images she produced.

Thanks also to Dade Freeman of Krysalis Photography (there’s an awesome slideshow on his blog from this shoot actually), Carey Sheffield of Hoi Polloi Events, Becky Williams of Tummy to Toddler Photography, Emma Meston of Emmest Photography, Katariina jarvien of Light Trick Photography & Andrew Fozard of Photography by Foz for the fab images below.

Finally I have one very special lady to thank for providing me with my absolute favourite images of the day. Jan Irvine is one heck of a talented artist. She sketched the pics below using charcoal in so little time that it literally took my breath away to see the results. I am absolutely in love with these pics and can’t thank Jan enough for letting me have copies!

Huge thanks to everyone involved including the various photographers I don’t have copies of piccies from – you all did such a grand job. Hugs and kisses to the other models o the day too, you all made me feel so at home and I had a blast working with you. I think I managed to learn quite a lot as well as strain various muscles through the course of the day, and have since been inspired to take up Burlesque dance classes. Well, I’ve got my stage name now, right, so I may as well get myself an act! I’ll let you know more about the adventures of Miss BonBon Voyage as and when…
