Thoresby Riding Hall Wedding << Lucy + Steve >>
Lucy and Steve have just got back form their honeymoon so I am super excited to share some of the pics from my first wedding of 2017 – and believe me this Thoresby Riding Hall wedding will make you smile! As big fans of cosy pubs and the big outdoors, Lucy and Steve had hoped to have a country pub wedding. Since they couldn’t find a country pub big enough to house their family and friends, they decided to make their own, and set about transforming the wonderful black canvas that is Thoresby Riding Hall into their very own rustic retreat. They bought all manner of furniture including traditional pub tables and chairs plus a few comfy sofas, book shelves and lamps and turned the Riding Hall into the perfect cosy hideaway for their winter wedding. Lucy’s mum made garlands for the walls and they used fairy lights and greenery on hoops to create the illusion of a cosy low ceiling. Oh and did I mention that they built a make-shift entryway, creating a welcome area for their “pub” and also my favourite cosy reading corner. It was incredible. Add to this amazing food, some fine whiskies, a post ceremony stroll through the grounds and some rather magnificent dance floor action and you’ve got yourself one heck of a fun winter wedding on your hands! Jen and I loved every minute of this day but highlights included the epic confetti that just kept on coming and the board games after lunch (not forgetting the confusing paper aeroplane making kit either). Oh and Lucy’s grandma Shirley. Because she was absolutely lovely and made me laugh all day long!
