I have so much love for Hannah and Matt’s rustic Lingholme Estate wedding. Not least because of the stunning setting. Any excuse to take a trip to the Lake District gets a big thumbs up from me! But the Lingholme Estate is extra special for this lovely pair, because they shared their first proper date there. They fell in love with one another, but also with this beautiful location. So when they tied the knot, it made absolute sense that they do so where it all started, on the western shores of Derwentwater.
One of my favourite memories of the day was walking down to the water’s edge so that Hannah and Matt could spend some quiet time together before their meal. Hannah threw her shoes off as soon as we entered the gardens, preferring to walk barefoot in her lace gown. She did agree to let Matt carry her down the rocky path to the shore though and it made for such a beautiful moment. Watching them giggling together with Derwentwater behind them was pretty magical.
Of corse the real highlight of the day, as I’m sure all of their guests would agree, was singing along in the ceremony to three wonderful tunes – David Bowie’s “Heroes”, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, and the theme song from “Home & Away. Yep. I was amazed to find that I knew all of the words too!!!
This gorgeous Lingholme Estate wedding was full of lovely little rustic touches and some quirky little decoration ideas, such as the photos of them both as kids at various ages on each table (I think the pics of them aged 3 – on table 3, obviously – were the cutest). Such a fab idea, well worth stealing!
